As a member of RANE’s team of analysts, you will be responsible for developing high-quality and forward-looking analysis and actionable intelligence, related to geopolitical and security developments, with a focus on the Middle East AOR. In this dedicated analyst role, you will focus on a single client, a leader in the financial services sector. On a regular basis you will provide support and strategic analysis of regional and global issues for the client’s Global Fusion and Intelligence function, together with reports outlining areas of concern or developing issues that may need additional monitoring. The information and analysis provided will enable leadership to make informed decisions on strategic and operational issues for the safety and security of its people, places, and assets, with a particular focus on identifying the intersections of risks, e.g., geopolitical, cyber and physical threats. The dedicated analyst role will be trained in the RANE geopolitical methodology and have the opportunity to partner and interact with colleagues across the broader RANE organization and gain exposure to a range of industries and risk topics, including geopolitics; cyber and information; physical safety and security; and legal, regulatory, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be based in the UAE or other gulf country.

‍Responsibilities

• Conducting research and analysis leveraging open-source information, as well as proprietary content/data sets, and in-house subject matter experts

• Produce daily deliverables, develop longer-form content, and provide briefings as appropriate

• Oversee threat monitoring and associated analytical reporting on known or emerging risks to the company's operations, assets, and employees worldwide

• Actively participate in daily RANE team meetings

• Provide proactive actionable intelligence to key client stakeholders in both written and verbal briefing form‍

Key Skills and Competencies

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic achievement required; academic background in relevant areas like international politics and security most desirable

• Minimum of two years’ relevant work experience, to include previous work in a security operations center or similar environment; globally-focused political, economic, and/or security analysis in either the public or private sector

• Expertise conducting geopolitical analysis on the Middle East required, with a particular focus on Iran, Turkey, Iraq, or Lebanon preferred

• Previous qualitative research and report-writing experience in a professional domain 

• Demonstrated sense of initiative and curiosity, willingness to ask questions and get answers

• Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

• Ability to function in a start-up atmosphere, comfort with ambiguity and change

This hybrid role involves dual responsibilities within our Product and Data Operations teams. The Data Quality and Acquisition Analyst will gain extensive exposure to various aspects of RANE’s internal teams, product offerings, and tools, playing a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data across the organization.
