RANE OSINT Analyst

We are looking to hire an Open Source Intelligence (OSINT) Analyst to support our growing enterprise risk intelligence monitoring team.

RANE’s OSINT Analyst team produces daily or weekly risk intelligence briefs using open-source information. These risk briefs are either available to all Core Intelligence platform users, or are customized for specific clients to deliver actionable intelligence. Our customer list spans a diverse range of industries and risk topics, but our main areas of concentration are geopolitical; safety & security; cybersecurity; and legal, regulatory, and compliance.

As part of the Monitoring group, the OSINT Analyst’s primary responsibilities will be:

  • Production of risk briefs:
    • Curating open-source news articles, legal analyses, blog posts, and regulatory announcements using our proprietary search tools, information database, and other online sources.
    • Editing content and preparing risk briefs for publication.
    • Publishing assigned risk briefs at designated times throughout the day and/or week.
  • Writing short-form analyses (each approximately 1-3 paragraphs) that are used in the Executive Summary sections of risk briefs.
  • Working together with a global team of analysts to constantly improve and fine-tune the monitoring products.

This is a great opportunity for recent college graduates, former entry-level US federal employees with an intelligence background, or individuals with only a few years of relevant work experience to get direct exposure to a range of geopolitical, security, regulatory, and cybersecurity issues.

This is a fully remote position, and may involve early morning hours for North American employees. As such, ideal time zones for candidates would be US Eastern Standard Time (EST), Western European Time (GMT), or Central European Time (CET).

Intelligence Analyst - Dedicated Client, Middle East

As a member of RANE’s team of analysts, you will be responsible for developing high-quality and forward-looking analysis and actionable intelligence, related to geopolitical and security developments, with a focus on the Middle East AOR. In this dedicated analyst role, you will focus on a single client, a leader in the energy sector. On a regular basis you will provide support and strategic analysis of regional and global issues for the client’s Global Fusion and Intelligence function, together with reports outlining areas of concern or developing issues that may need additional monitoring. The information and analysis provided will enable leadership to make informed decisions on strategic and operational issues for the safety and security of its people, places, and assets, with a particular focus on identifying the intersections of risks, e.g., geopolitical, cyber and physical threats. The dedicated analyst role will be trained in the RANE geopolitical methodology and have the opportunity to partner and interact with colleagues across the broader RANE organization and gain exposure to a range of industries and risk topics, including geopolitics; cyber and information; physical safety and security; and legal, regulatory, and compliance. The ideal candidate will be based in Western Europe or the Gulf.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research and analysis leveraging open-source information, as well as proprietary content/data sets, and in-house subject matter experts
  • Produce daily deliverables, develop longer-form content, and provide briefings as appropriate
  • Oversee threat monitoring and associated analytical reporting on known or emerging risks to the company's operations, assets, and employees worldwide
  • Actively participate in daily RANE team meetings
  • Provide proactive actionable intelligence to key client stakeholders in both written and verbal briefing form

Key Skills and Competencies

  • Creativity and clarity in constructing clear, logical arguments with supporting evidence; strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent writing, research, briefing, and editorial capabilities; strong command of English language and grammar. Arabic language skills preferred.
  • Rigor and resourcefulness in conducting open-source research, to include that of local media outlets across the globe, social media, government and commercial data, and academic and trade publications
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders; flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changing requirements are critical

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree with demonstrated academic achievement required; academic background in relevant areas like international politics and security most desirable
  • 3-5 years’ relevant work experience, to include previous work in an geopolitical/ threat intelligence role, ideally with exposure to the energy sector
  • Expertise conducting geopolitical analysis on the Middle East required, with a particular focus on Egypt and the Gulf preferred
  • Understanding of cyber threat landscape and experience conducting cyber threat analysis preferred
  • Previous qualitative research and report-writing experience in a professional domain 
  • Demonstrated sense of initiative and curiosity, willingness to ask questions and get answers
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

RANE’s Stratfor Applied Geopolitics Fellows Program

The Applied Geopolitics Fellowship is an opportunity for undergraduate or graduate students to gain experience applying geopolitical intelligence and analysis to the needs of different consumers of intelligence. 

Intern Job Responsibilities:

Our firm is seeking a motivated undergraduate fellow who is ready to apply knowledge of business practices and processes in a fast-paced, real-world environment. The Fellow will assist in research, analysis, writing, and briefing intelligence products, working alongside the company’s peerless team of geopolitical intelligence professionals. The program also provides training and mentorship in applied geopolitics, strategic forecasting, and scenario building.

RANE Data Quality and Acquisition Analyst

RANE is hiring a Data Quality and Acquisition Analyst to support our growing Content and Data Operations team. This hybrid role involves dual responsibilities within our Product and Data Operations teams. The Data Quality and Acquisition Analyst will gain extensive exposure to various aspects of RANE’s internal teams, product offerings, and tools, playing a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data across the organization.
